Basic Obedience: This class teaches basic obedience and manners, as well as owner leadership tools. Pet parents and their dogs will learn all of the basic obedience cues such as sit, sit-stay, down, down-stay, come, focus & loose leash walking. Another aspect of the class is to discuss common problem behaviors owners might encounter such as digging, chewing, nipping, barking and jumping. We will also go over topics such as nutrition, hand signals, exercise & training tips. All dogs must be up-to-date on their vaccinations and be at least 20 weeks or older to participate. Our positive approach to dog training will enable you and your dog to better understand each other. Certification of Completion is earned. Advanced Obedience: This class will help further develop your dog’s ability to learn behaviors involving more distance, duration and distraction to each cue learned in Basic Obedience and a few new cues such as leave it and more. Puppy Kindergarten: Designed to help puppies and their pet parents start off on the right paw by building a positive relationship and become a great leader for their puppy. During the socialization period (First 16 weeks) your puppy should be exposed to as many positive experiences as possible. This program of early training is a very gentle, positive approach to learning and problem solving. We will positively introduce your puppy to the basic commands such as; sit, down, stay , focus and come. We will also discuss general puppy care, grooming, nutrition and normal puppy behaviors new owners might encounter during the first months of puppyhood such as housebreaking, nipping, chewing and crate training. Beginner Dog Tricks: This class is a fu n way for dogs and their handlers of all ages to learn a variety of commands not usually covered in an obedience class. You can teach an old dog new tricks and have fun while you’re doing it! Skills like rollover, play dead, high five, crawl, speak, and more. Problem Solving and Behavior Modification: Dog behavioral problems often don't get better with time. In fact, unless you are actively working on changing the problem, the longer the dog is allowed to misbehave the more difficult it becomes to change the behavior. However, there is always a solution! I specialize in the diagnosis and treatment of canine behavioral problems, such as: separation anxiety, fearful behavior, specific phobias, destructive & excessive behaviors.
